“I am so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” – L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
This week our school and library was filled with the sights and sounds of fall. On Monday the Riverside PTO sponsored Fall Fest after school which provided a variety of fun activities for students and their parents. On Wednesday afternoon many students and staff followed Riverside Elementary School tradition by participating in our all-school parade. It is always fun and interesting to see the variety of costumes and all of the smiles!
In the library I shared Voicethread book talks with 2nd graders and many were anxious to check out books their peers recommended. 3rd and 4th graders were asked “What would you do if you were President of the United States?” for our blogging Question of the Week. I received many thoughtful answers – It is great that students are so interested in our election process.
5th graders who are in Library Crew received their t-shirts this week – We are so grateful for all of their hard work!
We are also in the process of adding to our staff collection of Get Caught Reading posters, where staff member have their picture taken with their favorite children’s book. Be sure to check the walls of the library next time you stop in to see all of the wonderful suggestions!
