The Book Fair is Coming!

Another busy week has come and gone at Riverside library!  Kindergartners learned how to access Tumblebooks and reviewed how to get onto the Kindergarten websites on our school webpage so they can do it on their own.

1st graders reviewed some the math websites we have available.  It is amazing how knowledgeable  young students are with technology!

2nd graders enjoyed finishing listening to Voicethread book talks by other Riverside students while classes later in the week viewed a preview video of our upcoming book fair.

Speaking of Voicethread, Mrs. D. just finished up Mrs. Reimer’s 2nd graders book talk while she started working with Mrs. King’s class to create personal narratives using that same podcasting tool.

Last weekend daylight savings time took place and all clocks should have been turned back one hour.  So our question of the week for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders was “If you were given an extra hour each day, how would you spend it?”

This week we also had picture retakes taken in the library, along with yearbook group pictures.  It was great to get a group picture of this year’s Library Crew – 67 members strong!

We are also looking forward to next week’s book fair, which will be open Nov. 17th – 21st.  Interested in volunteering?  Please give us a call and let us know or stop in the library in the next few days and sign up!

Saturday Mrs. D. attended the WTI conference at the D.C. Everest Middle School – Check out the Technology Tips tab on our school webpage to find some of the information that was shared there.
