Battle begins…

Another busy week has come and gone.  It is great to see how much our library, its resources and its staff is utilized.  Many 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are busy finding Accelerated Reader books that fit their reading level and taking quizzes on those books.  This week I set up our Ipad set so teachers can check them out and have students take AR quizzes on those too!images

In 2nd grade we did book talks on several examples of fairy tales and also discussed what a fractured fairy tale is and examples of those – another great Common Core connection…Kindergartners and 1st graders were introduced to our Christmas Around the World websites that they can explore at school or at home.  Check out our link on the Riverside webpage.

We had 53 students sign up for Battle of the Books this year!  Our first meeting was split in half – with Mrs. D. meeting with 5th graders in the library pit on Wednesday at lunch and 4th graders meeting with Mr. Podeweltz in his room.  Check out our Battle of the Books link on our library blog for more details.battlelogo.JPG
