‘Twas the Week Before Christmas…

‘Tis the season for a lot of activity and this week is packed with it!  This is the week of Riverside’s Christmas programs, the week before Christmas vacation and a week scheduled for many activities.  Mrs. D. is sharing with Kindergartner’s Clement Moore’s classic The Night Before Christmas story.  This poem, written in 1822, is just as touching today as it was when it was first written.  Check out the modern, e-book version on Tumblebooks!

laptops2Mrs. Reimer’s 2nd graders were introduced to the laptops on Monday.  They did their Reader Response on Mrs. Reimer’s new webpage.  They were so excited to share their knowledge of fairy tales and learn how to use the laptops at the same time!

Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades are watching an Animoto Mrs. D. made on all of the wonderful Christmas books we have here at Riverside.  Don’t forget to check out when you have a chance this week – we have a nice, long vacation coming up…Check out our Booktrailer tab at the top of our Riverside Library Blog to see what books might interest you.

Miss Wegner’s class used their keyboarding skills to type their Christmas poems and print them on special paper for their parents.  They did a great job of working quietly and efficiently.  Check out an example of their hard work!

xmaspoem1Mrs. Mergendahl’s class also used one of the computer labs to create Christmas Wordles and they turned out great!  Using a list of words they brainstormed as a class, their Wordles were great examples of their own unique Christmas creations!
