All four Kindergarten classes were in one of the library computer labs using the website ABCya to create their own pumpkins. This was a great classroom connection since they were studying pumpkins and their life cycles.
1st and 2nd graders had fire safety websites demonstrated to them. Sparky and Smokey the Bear provided great safety messages. On Friday the entire school recognized Fire Safety Day with a visit from local fire fighters.
2nd graders from Mrs. Reimer’s class and 3rd graders from Miss Jensen’s class were introduced to the laptops. Both classes did an excellent job of listening and following directions. They also learned that patience is the key when dealing with technology – waiting for all classmate’s computers to get to the same spot can take longer than we expect.
3rd graders started Mrs D.’s “Book Hooks” this week with an introduction to Mo Willems – as a result, many of his books were checked out this week.
4th and 5th graders were introduced to this week’s “Book Hook”, which can be found on our library blog. It was great to see all of the enthusiastic readers. Library Crew is also in full swing and we appreciate all of the help our crew member supply.
Throughout it all, Mrs. D is offering her services and bouncing around from one class to another. Onward to next week!
