During our latest rotation Kindergarten and 1st graders enjoyed the story Berenstain Bears Count Their Blessings. We discussed how Thanksgiving is a great time to think about all of the people and things we are thankful for.
Both grades practiced typing up a list of what they were thankful for and/or using clipart representations. Mrs. D, Mrs. T and Mrs. Hanson helped students print a copy of it to take home to share with their family.
2nd graders listened to Voicethread book talks of past 2nd and 3rd graders sharing their favorite books. We talked about how a great “book hook” gets people interested in the book without giving away the ending. We also discussed the Book Bugs reading incentive program and all of the prizes that can be earned.
3rd, 4th and 5th graders all watched Book Hooks from Mrs. D’s websites and practiced their typing skills using Typing Club before checking out books for this week.
Next on the agenda….the Book Fair arrives on the 18th.
